Oil on wood panel with acrylic polymer ground.

After applying three coats of acrylic polymer ground, I layed down a thin tint of turp/burnt umber to paint into/over.
Then, I roughly wiped-out and blocked-in the major forms of lights and darks.

I then proceeded to paint all the forms in the picture working more and more
toward details as the painting progressed. During the painting process.
I use color straight from the tube or mixed with varying amounts of linseed oil or, sometimes, turp -- or both.
